The area abounds with lakes, rivers and mountain streams and is known for its spectacular rainbow trout fishing. I can' say enough about the abundant opportunities that this community offers. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of History and experience a part of the country that retains the charm of earlier days. This building would be an excellent location for a craft business, a restaurants or that business opportunity that you have been dreaming of. History: This building was built at the turn of the century and was one of the first buildings to occupy what is today, Main Street Hardy Arkansas. originally the building was used as the Hardy Post Office (Right Side as you face the building) and as a Pharmacy on the left side. The building subsequently changed hands and was most notably used as the Law Office and residence of Carmack Sullivan. a brilliant and highly respected local attorney, from whom the building derives it's name. Until his death in the late 1900's The Harvard educated Sullivan was renown throughout the state and local areas for his legal prowess and political connections as well as his colorful personal life. On September 22th, 1993 this building was entered into the National Register of Historical Places by the United States Department of the Interior. Functionality: The interior space was redesigned with functionality and versatility and affordability in mind. This 4000 square foot building has been subdivided into four functional spaces with two separate retail or office areas downstairs and 2 modernized single bedroom apartments upstairs. This plan was created to accommodate future merchants that would like to live above their workspace. If a larger retail space is required or desired the bottom two spaces can be interconnected with a walk through passage beneath the stair well. The upstairs apartments offer approximately 800 and 900 square feet of living space each and feature a combined kitchen and living areas and a large master bedroom, with a spacious walk in closet, facing the street side of the building. Also included are a pantry, a large hall closet and a bath with a shower. Renovation: In order to restore this building a new life and to enhance its functionality with the town of Hardy, the building has been completely renovated. Special effort was intended to retain some of the most distinguishing features of the building within modernizing the interior in such a manner as to capture the essence of Old Hardy Town. Following is a list of features and changes that have been applied.
