Atlanta, the capital of Georgia, became world renowned after hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. The city built many new attractions for the onslaught of tourists, and many remain today. The most popular is the Centennial Olympic Park. It has been adopted for residential use and is home to the world's largest interactive fountain, the Fountain of Rings. From April to October, the park offers music at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Much is to be said about the amount of entertainment provided by Atlanta for residential families. Underground Atlanta, which is literally under the streets of the city, was built on the Creek Indian Village and Trading Post and offers shopping, dining and an exciting nightlife. Residents also have Stone Mountain Park, Zoo Atlanta, and the Atlanta Jazz Festival, which is conducted in May, featuring a month-long series of concerts, all at their doorsteps. Vibrant business district
'The Big Peach' is rich with historical significance. The national historic site of Martin Luther King Jr. surrounds his childhood home on Auburn Avenue in the historic Sweet Auburn district.
