Sex and the City-Leading Homes for Leading Ladies
With their designer handbags, six-inch stilettos and martinis in tow, women across the country have been lining up at theaters to reunite with the beloved characters from 'Sex and the City' (SATC).
Whether you could identify with the leading lady's sassy personalities or just wanted to be them, the hit HBO series helped to define an entire generation of women (this could be either a good or bad thing depending on which boyfriend you ask). Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda made drinking martinis hip again, uncomfortable heels a-must- have and men secondary when it came to a girls' night out.
I can't begin to tell you how many times I've heard some woman compare herself to Carrie or Samantha. The SATC girls may have strutted their Jimmy Choo's on the bustling streets of New York City, but their personalities transcend regional boundaries. There's a Carrie in every city, and I thought it might be fun to feature some homes that would match the personalities of these fabulous leading ladies.
Carrie Bradshaw
Bradshaw is your smart, independent woman who's a total hopeless romantic. By season four of the series, she lands her dream job at Vogue magazine and elevates herself from renter status to owner.
Samantha Jones
Jones is your successful PR exec who knows what she wants — and most of the time, she gets it. She radiates confidence and isn't afraid to flaunt the goods she's earned from her success.
Charlotte York
York is your wide-eye optimist who stays true to her old-fashioned values. This upper-class socialite's style is classic yet chic.
Miranda Hobbes
Hobbes is smart, self-assured and proud of her achievements. She's a complete cynic but pragmatic in her approach to life. She made partner in her law firm and was able to buy her own prewar apartment on the Upper West Side.
