The Prettiest Darn Towns in the U.S.A.
Sure beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but we can all agree that there are some things in life that are a bit easier on the eyes than others. I recently came across an article from Forbes Traveler.com that ranked America's 20 prettiest towns — and were not talking about the residents. From cozy traditional settings to natural wonderlands, the five judges. which were made up of travel writers, photographers and a community planning designer, had their own special reasons for their choices.
Here are my top five favorite towns that made the Forbes list:
1. Rockport, ME
From its picturesque harbors to its cozy small-town feel, Rockport is an eastern seaboard splendor.

2. Galena, IL
If you're a lover of historic buildings then Galena is the next best thing to heaven. With over 85 percent of Galena's buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, taking a stroll through town is like going back in time.

3. Park City, UT
It's no secret Park City boasts some of the best skiing and snowboarding terrains in the country, but visitors will tell you it's the gorgeous Victorian-style buildings and colorful Main Street that really makes this town memorable.

4. Lake Placid, NY
From its pristine lakes to its gorgeous rolling hills, this upstate New York town is breathtaking during all four seasons.

5. Savannah, GA
Unlike many towns and cities in Georgia and the South, Savannah is one of the few places that was not burned down by advancing union forces during the Civil War. As a result, the city's rich antebellum character has been preserved in its garden squares, historic homes and cobblestone paved streets.
