Tiniest Home for Sale

Even for the most space- deprived urbanite, this shoebox of a house located in the Dufferin / Rogers area of Toronto, is a bit snug. As one of Toronto's smallest properties, it's squeezed between two towering homes on what used to be a driveway. The 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom hut sits on a parcel of land 7.25 feet wide and 113.67 feet long and has an interior area of just under 300 square feet. The home may be tight for space, but with an asking price of $179,900 it's a runaway bargain. Here are shots of the living room looking towards the front and back of the house:

The kitchen area actually looks more spacious than most I've seen in small condos in the city. Despite the narrowness of the place, the owners managed to fit in a washer and dryer:

To help open up space, this room comes with its own Murphy bed, which is necessary when you have less than 50 square feet to work with. You can see that the room offers more walking space once the bed is retracted:

But the real icing on this cupcake of a home is the patio space out back:

This is like the Geico commercial.

"Why didn't we switch to Geico!?"

Hmmm. Brooklyn? Check your sources - that house is in Toronto: http://www.joeydevilla.com/2007/10/21/torontos-smallest-house-is-up-for-sale/ http://www.midtowntoronto.com/2007/10/15/torontos-smallest-house-for-sale/

Thanks for the correction. I was sent the photos from a friend who received it from an agent in NYC listing it with a New York City address. I'm starting to wonder if this house is actually real.

Comment from Burgle F., a Consumer:

And where's the bathroom? Not like it could be hiding in some other part of the house. Did they get a free renovation of the bathroom when they renovated the kitchen?
