I love June. Every year as June rolls around, I eagerly look forward to the days growing longer and the sunlight staying with us seemingly forever. As a young kid, June’s arrival meant the glorious freedom to stay out and play well after bedtime, only coming home when darkness finally arrived. Actually, we only came home when my parents rang a bell they had that told us come home right that instant or lose ice cream privileges for the week, but you get the idea. Well, now that I am all grown up, I set the ice cream privileges, and in June, that means my wife, four kids, and I burn through a couple frequent ice cream purchasers cards spending the long June evenings eating mint chocolate chip and cookie dough ice cream outside of our local ice cream store.
