To kick off the 2012 holiday season, during the month of November we asked real estate agents from across the country to tell us why they are grateful for their
real estate business, as part of the HomeFinder.com 30 Days of Gratitude Contest. We offered real estate agents the chance to win $250 for themselves and a $250 donation to their charity of choice. HomeFinder.com is grateful for all real estate agents do to better their communities and the entries we received confirmed real estate agents do more than just sell homes; they are a fundamental part of the community.
The real estate agent who ultimately stood out from all of the entries was Pat Haddad, Realtor®/Broker Associate with The Haddad Team – Keller Williams Realty. Pat’s winning entry is exemplary of all real estate agents do to better their communities:
“I am grateful for my real estate career because I get to help people with one of the most important chapters in their life–the purchase of a home. I also get to help save people from losing those homes or running into other financial difficulties. As a team owner, I teach others and help them to become successful on their own so that they too can serve others. Finally, I am able to give a portion of each commission to help the homeless. I earn a living and support my family while helping others.”
Pat’s charity of choice is Indianapolis-based The Julian Center, an organization that helps women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. Pat’s donation of $250 will provide a rental deposit for a woman and her children moving into an apartment. This is one more way that Pat is helping to give someone in her community a home.
But all the agents who entered proved they are the heart of their local markets, by: helping neighbors who were affected by Hurricane Sandy; guiding first-time homebuyers with their largest purchase; giving back commissions to military, fire, police and EMT personnel to “serve those who serve”; coming together as an office to grant wishes for Make-A-Wish; helping clients to avoid foreclosure; and by initiating local change through community improvement events.
Congratulations to Pat Haddad and thank you to all the real estate agents who help to better their communities!
